Tahmima Anam


Tahmima Anam was born in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh, and experienced childhood in Paris, Bangkok as well as New York. She holds a PhD. social anthropology from Harvard University, one of the most prestigious universities in the world. Her writing skill is amazing and has been published in Granta, the New York Times, the Financial Times and the Guardian. Her first novel is “A Golden Age”, was the winner of the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book. She lives in London as well as Dhaka. She is a Muslimah and her social philosophy is appeared in her writing as well.

Tahmima Anam turned into a helping sentiment author for The International New York Times in the fall of 2013. She is the creator of the Bengal Trilogy, which narratives three eras of a Bangladeshi family, from the war of freedom to the present day.
Tahmima Anam was born in 8 October, 1975 Dhaka, Bangladesh. But she brought up in Paris, New York City and Bangkok.  Her father is Mahfuj Anam, the editor and the publisher of the Daily Star news paper of Bangladesh. Though she was born in Dhaka, Bangladesh, in 1975, Ms. Anam was brought up in Paris, New York City and Bangkok. She learned at Mount Holyoke College and Harvard University, where she got a Ph.d. in social anthropology in 2005.

Her first novel, “A Golden Age” published in 2007, was short-recorded for The Guardian First Book Award and a Costa Book Award for best first novel, and won the Commonwealth Writers’ Prize for Best First Book. It was followed in 2011 by “The Good Muslim.”  She is grinding away on the final volume of the trilogy.

Ms. Anam was one of the Granta magazine’s Best of Young British Novelists in 2013. Her writing has been published in the British political and cultural magazine “The New Statesman”, The Guardian and The New York Times.
